Prostate Cancer

Prostate cancer is the second most common type of cancer found in American men, next to skin cancer.

Get the Facts
Recent statistics from the American Cancer Society estimate that there will be approximately 232,090 new cases of prostate cancer in the United States in 2005 and about 30,350 men will die of the disease. However, prostate cancer is highly treatable and recent advances are consistently proving that a prostate cancer diagnosis is not a death sentence.

One man in 6 will get prostate cancer in his life but only 1 in 33 will die as a result. While the death rate for prostate cancer is consistently declining, we want to see a more dramatic decrease in both prostate cancer deaths and new cases through our maintenance and prevention protocols.

Know Your Options
Unfortunately there are still many men who don’t know their treatment options or even fully understand risk factors associated with prostate cancer. They’re simply rushed through the medical system and treated as a traditional prostate cancer case. But the truth is there are many medical and lifestyle programs that work in lieu of or in tandem with either surgery or radiation to keep cancer dormant for as long as possible. We encourage patients to get second and even third opinions before formulating a treatment strategy. FCRE encourages patients to get second opinions and to take their lives into their own hands.
