Silent
Auction to Benefit Prostate Cancer Education and Research
16
June 18 June, 2005
National Conference on Prostate Cancer 2005
For
the first time on the East Coast two of our country's outstanding
charitable organizations dedicated to the elimination of prostate
cancer have planned a four-day national conference. National
Conference on Prostate Cancer 2005 Sharing the Journey
will be held June 16-19, 2005 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel Washington,
DC. This historic event will attract several thousand participants
including patients, families, and medical professionals.
As
part of the conference there will be a silent auction. All money
raised through the auction will go to funding prostate cancer
education and research. The auction begins on Thursday afternoon,
June 16, and bidding will conclude at 5:00 PM Saturday evening,
June 18, just before the banquet. But we need your help to make
this event successful and exciting. You've probably donated items
to or have attended events featuring a Silent Auction in the past.
As you well know, donations are always needed! Possible donations
include, but are not limited to:
- Tickets
to concerts or plays
- Jewelry
- Artwork
- Crafted
items, such as a
ceramic bowl
- Antiques
|
- Food
specialty items
- Restaurant
gift certificates
- Use
of a vacation home
- A
cruise
- Sports
equipment or memorabilia

This
is your opportunity to help the one million men in the United
States who have prostate cancer. It's estimated that 220,000 men
were diagnosed with prostate cancer and 28,900 men died of the
disease in 2003. Please help us help men and their families in
their battle with prostate cancer. To donate to the Silent Auction,
please use the attached form for a description and estimated value.
Our organizations are 501(C)(3) tax-exempt under the IRS code
and the estimated value of your donation
will be tax deductible, but please check with your
tax advisor. All information on donations and the actual donation
should be sent to the address listed below.
Sincerely,
